A proud member of the Alaska Lutheran Church, Gerald found solace and community within the church, where his kind spirit resonated with many. His service in the Army for four years instilled in him a commitment to service and loyalty—a trait that carried through into each facet of his life.

Gerald was a man of diverse interests and passions. He possessed an insatiable wanderlust, frequently embarking on journeys to visit family members, for whom he held an unyielding love. His delight in the wilderness was complemented by his penchant for hunting and fishing, activities that he relished and shared with loved ones. An observer of life’s simple pleasures, Gerald took profound joy in watching birds and the art of people-watching, enjoying the world with curiosity and appreciation.

Music was an essential part of Gerald’s life; his heart danced with the rhythm of Elvis Presley, whose melodies brought him endless joy. A loved one on the dance floor, he embraced the jitterbug, captivating friends and family with his joyful spirit and infectious happiness. His enthusiasm extended to the realm of sports as well, as he proudly donned his colors as a devoted Seahawks fan, celebrating the excitement of the game with fervor and zeal.

Gerald's loving family stands as testaments to his influence and nurturing spirit. He leaves behind his cherished children, Donald (Carol), Debbie (Mike), and Jackie (Dale), who have inherited not only his kindness but also his love for life. He embraced a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each carrying a piece of his heart, along with many brothers and sisters who continue to thrive, some having passed on but remaining ever present in treasured memories. His beloved grand dog, Bell, his best buddy, kept him company, providing laughter and comfort.

Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Nellie Trigg, and his beloved child, Robert. Gerald’s indomitable spirit has touched countless lives, and his memory will persist, and resonating in the joyful stories the family will continue to share.
