Georgine "Jean" Helen (Taylor) Stewart, a beloved matriarch and treasured friend, passed away peacefully at her home on April 10, 2025, surrounded by the love she had so generously shared throughout her life. Born on January 1, 1940, in Vandercook Lake, Michigan, Jean was a woman of immense strength, spirit, and creativity.
Known for her nurturing personality, Jean was a proud homemaker and devoted mother to her four children. She was not only a mother to her own kids but also proudly served as the neighborhood mom, always ready with a warm smile and open arms for friends and neighbors alike. Her home was a haven filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love.
Her love for family extended beyond her children; she embraced her role as a grandmother, cherishing the bonds she formed with Robert, Melissa, Barbara, Andrew, Jacob, Parker, and Spencer. Each grandchild held a special place in her heart, and she was delighted to have many great-grandchildren, through whom her legacy of love continues to flourish.
Jean's life was intertwined with the experiences that came from being the wife of a military man. Together, with her ex-husband Bob Stewart, they navigated relocations to places like Springfield, Massachusetts, San Antonio, Texas, and Omaha, Nebraska. Each move brought new friendships, allowing Jean to build lasting bonds that would enrich her life for years to come.
A lover of the outdoors, Jean found joy in tending to her garden, which flourished under her attentive care. Her culinary skills were equally celebrated; whether baking delicious treats or cooking family meals, she infused every dish with love. An avid reader, Jean savored the escape that books provided, often diving into stories that inspired her creativity.
Jean was loved and respected by all who had the pleasure to know her. Her kindness radiated, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. She was quite talented and creative, weaving her passions into every aspect of her life, showcasing the beauty of a nurturing soul.
She is survived by her loving son, Michael Taylor-Stewart, and cherished daughter, Cathy Stewart, as well as her dear siblings, Wanda, Barry, Margie, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward.
Though we mourn the loss of this incredible woman, we take comfort in the countless memories she created throughout her life. Jean now joins her dear loved ones who passed before her, including her ex-husband Bob Stewart, her sons Robert Stewart and Dennis Stewart, and her parents George and Helen Taylor, along with her siblings Jerry, Jimmy, Jackie, Rose, and Janet.
In celebrating Jean's remarkable life, we remember a loving, caring, and nurturing spirit who touched the hearts of many. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire those lucky enough to have known her.
Jean requested there be no funeral service. Her family will gather for a celebration of life at a future date to be determined.
