Gary Howard Williams, born on December 2, 1956, in Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on September 5, 2025, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He lived a life rich in passion, community involvement, and family. Gary was a graduate of Lakeview High School class of 1975. He worked 18 years for  II Stanley, and another 13 years doing auto trim and upholstery on antique auto restorations.

A dedicated individual, Gary was a member of the American Legion Post 298, where he proudly served fellow veterans and participated in various activities that supported the local community. His adventurous spirit found expression in his participation in a local motorcycle club, where he forged lasting friendships through shared journeys and explorations. Additionally, Gary was an active member of the Amateur Radio Club, he was an EMT with Emmett Rescue Squad for over 10 years and sat on the Board of Directors. Gary was also a member of Skywarn, all of which reflect his commitment to service and communication in both leisure and critical times, as he worked to alert communities of severe weather and provide aide to those in need.

Gary’s vibrant personality was matched by his diverse range of hobbies and interests. A true hand radio fanatic, he relished the art of building things, expressing his creativity through welding and photography. His musical inclinations were notable, as he enjoyed playing the bass guitar with local bands. Gary also embraced the camaraderie of Trivia Nights at Serious Dogs and Brews, where he showcased his knowledge and engaged with friends and fellow trivia enthusiasts.

He is lovingly remembered by his children, John (Brandie) Williams, Jessica Williams, and Amy Hensen. Gary took immense pride in his role as a grandfather, cherished by his four grandchildren, Lacie Williams, Tyler Owens, Connor, and Emily Hensen, with excitement for the arrival of his great grandchild on the way. He is also survived by his brother, Kim (Artis Fast) Williams.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Priscilla (Oesch) Williams, who provided him with love and support throughout his life. His legacy is carried on through his family and the many lives he touched with his warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a date in the near future to honor Gary's life and legacy.
