Elizabeth Anne Fiske, née Engler, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2026, in Paw Paw, Michigan. She was born on December 10, 1960, in Pontiac, Michigan, and will be remembered with deep love for the warmth, care, and steady presence she brought to the lives around her.

Elizabeth built a life rooted in learning, curiosity, and connection. She graduated with a bachelor's degree from SVSU and went on to become a teacher at Mattawan Middle School, where she taught Language Arts and Social Studies. Teaching was an important part of her life, and she also enjoyed serving as a chaperone on student trips to Costa Rica, Panama, and the Dominican Republic. Her love of discovery and her interest in the wider world were reflected both in her work and in the way she lived.

On October 7, 1989, she married her husband, Kirk, in Dearborn, Michigan. Their marriage was a lasting and meaningful part of her life, and together they shared many seasons and memories.

Elizabeth found joy in the simple and beautiful things. She enjoyed yoga, hiking, reading, and traveling. She loved nature, took pleasure in tending to her flower pots, and cherished winters spent in Florida. She also delighted in time with her family, especially when her nieces came to stay. She was known for thoughtfully creating an itinerary for them, making those visits special and memorable for all.

She is survived by her husband, Kirk Fiske; her sister, Irene Perry; her brother, Dan Engler; and her niece, Taalia Larson. As well as many other family members and friends. Each of them carries forward treasured memories of her kindness, thoughtfulness, and the love she gave so freely.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Marian Engler, and by her sister, Lori Larson. Their memory remained an enduring part of her life.

Elizabeth will be remembered as an educator, a traveler, a lover of books and the outdoors, and a devoted wife, sister, and aunt. Her life touched many, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
