Edwin & Sarah
Brown
Lansing, MI
Sarah Ethelda Brown, age 77, passed away on July 29, 2026, in Lansing, Michigan. She was born on April 3, 1949, in Lansing, Michigan. Just thirteen days later, her beloved husband, Edwin Wayne Brown, followed her on August 11, 2026. He was born on August 27, 1946, in Carson City, Michigan. Though separated for only a brief time, they are together once again, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew them.
Sarah and Edwin shared a life built on family, friendship, and unwavering devotion to one another. Their home was always a welcoming place where everyone felt accepted, conversations came easily, and love was never in short supply. Together they built a legacy measured not by possessions, but by the people whose lives they touched.
Sarah was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished sister, proud grandmother known affectionately as “Nonna,” and an amazing friend. She enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and found happiness in watching hummingbirds outside her window, trying her luck at the casino, and spending more than twenty summers traveling and relaxing in their RV in Benzonia and Hastings, Michigan. Those summers became treasured traditions filled with family, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
Anyone who knew Sarah knew her favorite expressions of love. She would often say, “Love you more,” only to hear the reply, “Love you to the moon.” Those words became more than sayings—they became a reflection of the unconditional love she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Edwin was a devoted husband, proud father, beloved grandfather known as “Papa,” son, and loyal friend. He loved hunting and fishing and could often be found working on one project or another. He was always willing to fix anything, even if the results occasionally brought more laughter than success. His determination, humor, and willingness to lend a helping hand were qualities his family will always remember fondly.
One of Edwin’s favorite stories was riding his motorcycle through his high school on the last day of school—a memory that perfectly captured his adventurous spirit and playful personality.
Together, Sarah and Edwin created a family rooted in love, acceptance, and unwavering support. Their greatest joy came from watching their children and grandchildren grow and creating traditions that will continue for generations to come.
Sarah was preceded in death by her sisters, Carol Goins and Deloras Nelson, and her brother, Bill Nelson.
Together, Sarah and Edwin are lovingly survived by their children, Sean Campanile (Shannon), Tony Campanile (Scott), and Willard Brown.
They leave behind their treasured grandchildren: Tiffany Brenneman (Jamie), Alexandria Campanile Potter (Adam), Elijah Brown, Jonathan Brown, and Sebastian Campanile.
Sarah is also survived by her sisters, Barb Deline (Metzger), Cathy Conrad (Bartholomew), and Patricia Nelson (Ward). Edwin is survived by his sister, Karen Glinke (Phil).
They also leave behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and countless friends who were blessed to share in their lives.
The loss of Sarah and Edwin, so close together, is a profound reminder of the deep bond they shared throughout their lives. While their family grieves two immeasurable losses, they also find comfort knowing Sarah and Edwin’s love story did not end. They are together once again, reunited after only thirteen days apart.
Their memories will live on in every family gathering, every camping trip, every hummingbird that visits, every cast of a fishing line, and every heartfelt reminder to tell those you love, “Love you more.”
