Dragi "Dave" Nikolovski, a man whose life was marked by hard work, kindness, and an unyielding zest for living, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, in Marshall, Michigan. Born on December 30, 1950, in Bitola, Yugoslavia, Dave’s journey was one defined by determination, versatility, and a deep care for those around him.
Growing up in Battle Creek, Michigan, Dave received his education at Post, South Eastern, and Battle Creek Central schools. His formative years were steeped in community and learning, laying a foundation that would support a life rich with varied accomplishments and meaningful relationships.
Dave served his country honorably in the United States Army, where he earned the rank of Specialist 4 before his discharge. This chapter of his life bore witness to his dedication and commitment, traits that would continue to characterize every aspect of his life.
Throughout his career, Dave was truly a man of many hats. Whether investing in real estate, owning a car wash, or serving as a maintenance mechanic, he brought an unparalleled work ethic and ingenuity to every endeavor. His ability to adapt and excel in varied fields was a testament to his intelligence and drive. Retiring early stood as one of his proudest accomplishments, a milestone that marked the culmination of years of diligent effort.
Dave was a man of vibrant personality, never meeting a stranger and always carrying himself with kindness and genuine care for others’ feelings. Those who knew him best recall his enthusiastic spirit and the way he treated everyone like family. His love of motorcycles, especially Harleys, was only rivaled by his joy in flipping houses and the simple pleasure of listening to music, with a special affinity for The J. Geils Band. Over the 32 years he and his beloved wife Gail spent living in Hudson, Florida, he developed a deep affection for the beach, a place he visited often to find peace and renewal. Time spent with friends and his cherished furry companion, Nala, brought him great happiness.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Gail Nikolovski, who stood by his side through decades of shared life and adventure. His daughter, Linda Nikolovski, as well as two stepchildren, Joshua Sutfin and Jessica Sutfin. He is also remembered by his two sisters, Nancy Marino and Lela Nikolovski, who carry forward his legacy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dimce and Danica Nikolovski.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for later this summer, where friends and family will gather to honor the impression he left on their hearts.
Dragi "Dave" Nikolovski will be dearly missed by all who knew him—for his many talents, his ever-present kindness, and the warmth with which he embraced life. His memory endures as that of a remarkable man who touched many lives and whose spirit will remain alive cherished and remembered.
