Dorothy “Dottie” Ann Frye (Balch), 88, was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on October 22, 2025, reunited with her beloved husband, James Earl Frye. Born on June 5, 1937, in Torrance, California, Dottie grew up in a motorsports family and developed a lifelong love for fast cars and boats. She married Jim on December 29, 1956, and together they raised two loving children.
Dottie’s adventurous spirit led her across the country and around the world — from boating adventures in California and Arizona, to exploring Spain, Australia, and Israel, where she was baptized in the Jordan River. She proudly owned a 1971 De Tomaso Pantera and was active in the Pantera Owners Club of America.
After moving to Holland, Michigan in 1996, Dottie built lasting friendships and gave her time to her church, and a local women’s shelter. She loved walks at Ottawa Beach, sunsets, and time with her dog.
Above all, Dottie was a proud mother and grandmother, cheering on her grandchildren at recitals and games. She is survived by her children Lauri (Don) and Dale (Sara), grandchildren Carly, EJ, and Grace, and many beloved nieces and nephews
Dottie walked with Jesus as her Lord and found comfort in the promise of II Corinthians 5:17
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."
The family would like to express: "We're very grateful for the loving care provided by Storypoint, Corsocare Caregivers, and Hospice during this last season of Dottie's life."
