Donald "Donnie" W. Harrell, age 71, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, with his loving wife by his side. He was born July 21, 1954, to Helen and Tommy Harrell in Kalamazoo, MI.

Donnie loved his family deeply and had a wonderful sense of humor. He attended Comstock High School. In his earlier years, he worked as a truck driver for United Van Lines. He later retired from Kendall Electric after 17 years of dedicated service. He was known for his strong work ethic, kind heart, and unwavering devotion to his family. Donnie cherished time spent with loved ones, especially during the holidays. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and visiting the casino.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Roberta; his daughters, Holly Harrell, Heather (Tony) Harrell and Elizabeth Terry; his sons, Chet (Jamie) Terry, Auddie Terry and Jordan Terry, whom they adopted later in life. Donnie was the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by siblings, Norma (Chuck) Rogers, Terry (Donna) Byers, Janice Beauchamp, Martha Serio, Ron Harrell, Louis Byers, Maria (Scott) Bielski, Kathy Jo Davis, and Gloria Blanchard; sisters-in-law, Barb Rust and Becky Hallberg; his uncle, Jim (Elaine) Walker, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Harrell; his mother, Helen Byers; his step-father, Owen Byers; his brothers, Bob Smith and Jerry Byers; as well as his grandparents and uncles.

Donnie will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend whose laughter, loyalty and warmth touched everyone who knew him. There will be a Celebration of Life open house in honor of Donnie on Monday, April 6, 2026. Guests are welcome to stop by between 3:30pm and 6:30pm at the Parchment United Methodist Church Community Room, 225 Glendale Blvd. Parchment, MI as we gather to share memories, stories and to celebrate a life well lived.
