Diane Lynn Jones, age 70, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026, in Allegan, Michigan, with her loving husband, Richard Jones, by her side. She was born on July 27, 1955, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Gerald and Beverly Benham.

Diane was a woman who could best be described as loving, kind, strong willed, and full of life. Much like her favorite flower, the sunflower, she brought brightness wherever she went. She had an outgoing and personable nature that made it easy for her to form lasting friendships, and she was truly a woman of many friends. Her warm smile, welcoming spirit, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures and enjoyed relaxing hobbies such as gardening, watching nature, and spending time observing the hummingbirds that frequently visited her yard. These quiet moments brought her peace and reflected her appreciation for the beauty found in everyday life.

Diane was known as a fighter. For nineteen years, she courageously battled cancer with remarkable determination, strength, and grace. Throughout her journey, she refused to let her diagnosis define her, continuing to live life with resilience and optimism. In the final months of her battle, she was cared for with unwavering love and devotion by her husband, Richard, who faithfully served as her primary caregiver, offering comfort, support, and companionship every step of the way.

Above all, Diane treasured her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend whose love touched generations. The memories she created, the wisdom she shared, and the kindness she extended will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Jones; her children, Amy, John, Beverly, Michelle, and Allan; 18 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; her brother, Gerald (Jan) Benham; her sister, Peggy (Brian); and her sisters-in-law, Linda, Robin, Paula, and Rhonda, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Diane now joins her parents, Gerald and Beverly Benham, who preceded her in passing.

Though her family grieves her loss, they find comfort in knowing that her long fight has ended and that she is now at peace. Her bright spirit, unwavering strength, and deep love for those around her will never be forgotten.
