Darlene Knickerbocker, 84, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
A devoted wife, Darlene was married to her beloved husband, David Knickerbocker, for 64 beautiful years. Their life together was a testament to enduring love, happiness, and family devotion. Darlene will be fondly remembered for her gentle spirit, warmth, and the unconditional love and patience she showered upon her family. Her greatest joy was found in being a wife, mother, and grandmother, and she created a home full of cherished memories.
She is survived by her loving husband, David; her children, Denise (Roger) Klaren, Danette (Dell) Hempsted, David (Gina) Knickerbocker, Dan (Andrea) Knickerbocker, and Darrick (Tiffany) Knickerbocker. Darlene was a proud grandmother to Robbie Peet, Chad Klaren, Kaycee Jo and Steve McManus, Jesse Klaren, Tiffany and Aaron Krummrey, DJ and Andrea Hempsted, Kailee and Jake Fuller, Nick and Amber Knickerbocker, Kimberly and Zack Millisor, and Brandon Knickerbocker; she was also a cherished great-grandmother to 27 great-grandchildren and so many others who knew her as Grandma that brought her endless laughter and joy during her life.
Darlene will be joining in heaven her parents, Charles Robert and Beatrice (Hocking) Klee; her brothers, Ronald and Robert Klee; her sister, Rosie Havens; and her grandson, Tyler Knickerbocker.
Family was the center of Darlene’s life, and she treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love, kindness, and strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A celebration of life will be held in Battle Creek to celebrate Darlene’s life, at the Newton Township Hall, 11003 9 ½ Mile Rd. Ceresco, MI 49033 on Friday September 26th at 3:00 PM.
