Daniel F. Schultz, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 5, 2025, in Three Rivers, Michigan. Born on October 11, 1941, in Buffalo, New York, Daniel lived a life filled with purpose and passion, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication.
Daniel dedicated 40 years to his career as a truck driver. His commitment to his work was exemplified by the side electrical projects he undertook when not behind the wheel. A veteran of the Air Force, he carried the values of service and duty throughout his life.
A member of the Masonic Lodge in Marcellus and the Newberg Norton Bible Church, Daniel found joy and community in his faith and fraternal connections. His interests were varied and vibrant; he treasured gardening and the cultivation of heirloom seeds, nurtured a love for fishing, and could often be found enjoying boat and car races. Daniel had a special affinity for card games, particularly Euchre, and cherished taking road trips with his brother out east and playing pinochle the family there. He found excitement in treasure hunting along the roadside, where he would seek out objects to repurpose, and his trucking journeys out west blossomed into a collection of cacti that he lovingly gathered.
Among his proudest accomplishments were his contributions to the Marcellus Food Pantry and a women's shelter in Three Rivers, where he freely donated vegetables from his thriving garden. He devoted countless hours to restoring his beloved 1952 Henry J, a project he hoped to complete, which showcased his determination and skills.
Daniel is survived by his son, Luke (Julie Harris) Schultz; daughter, Kiersten (David) Swinehart; four grandchildren, Sabrina (Caleb) Thomas, Breauna Swinehart, David Swinehart II, and Leslie Harris; two great-grandchildren, Mia and Jace Stevens; brother, Kenneth (Terry) Schultz; and nephews, Jon (Lindsey) Schultz and Jeff (Amy) Schultz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Patsy Mae; sister, Jean; and an infant daughter, Donna.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Daniel's life will be held on May 17, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Family First Funeral & Cremation Services 52780 M-40 Marcellus, MI, followed by a luncheon at the VFW in Marcellus. His family and friends invite those who knew and loved him to join them in honoring his memory. Daniel leaves behind a lasting legacy of kindness, generosity, and a spirit that touched the lives of many.
