Crystal Nicole Schutz, born on June 29, 1980, in Kalamazoo, MI, passed away on August 1, 2025, in Hartford, MI. She is remembered as a loving wife, mother, and friend who radiated warmth, happiness, compassion and creativity throughout her life.
Crystal fostered strong relationships with her children, James Lee Schutz and stepdaughter Leanna Michelle Pagels, always finding joy and solace spending time with them. Family was central to her life, and she cherished every moment spent exploring the world alongside her loved ones. Whether indulging in the magical or supernatural worlds of her favorite shows and movies. Attending Renaissance fairs or exploring haunted places. She exuded an adventurous spirit, often described as an "explorer of life."
With a love for interior design, Crystal had a remarkable eye for aesthetics and a deep appreciation for beautiful things. Her passion to create and design became a canvas through which she expressed her vibrant and colorful personality. She took pride in creating spaces filled with color and life, reflecting her inventive and imaginative nature.
Crystal's bond with her husband, William Wesley Schutz, spanned 26 years; they first met when she was just 19. Their love story grew and blossomed over the years, culminating in a marriage that would be celebrated for 24 years this coming September 8th. This enduring partnership stood as a testament to their commitment for one another. Even through dark and light, they still found their way.
Crystal was preceded in death by her mother, Pamela Crawley, and her best friend Jackie Lynn Gettig whose legacy of love and support will continue through those she touched. She leaves behind her beloved father, Gary Tingue, and stepmother, Christine Tingue, who shared in her journey of life, as well as many close friends and family who will undoubtedly miss her profoundly.
As we remember Crystal, we celebrate her adventurous spirit, her love for her family, and her creativity that inspired those around her. She leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of her loved ones and will be fondly remembered for all the joy she brought into their lives.
