Clinton-Marcus Edward Martin, Jr., affectionately known as "Jr," passed away unexpectedly on April 11, 2026, in his hometown of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Born on December 28, 2001, Jr was a young man whose vibrant spirit and heart of gold left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. At only 24 years of age, his sudden departure is a profound loss to all who loved him.
Jr was celebrated for his warm and approachable nature, truly loved by everyone he met. His generosity and sincere kindness radiated in every interaction, making him a cherished figure within his family and community. Known for a joyful zest for life, Jr embraced a variety of hobbies and interests that showcased his dynamic personality. An avid enthusiast of video games, camping, fishing, golfing, and disc golf, he found immense pleasure in the great outdoors and friendly competition alike. Equally meaningful to him were the moments spent working on cars with his father and riding along in the tow truck, bonding over shared passions and creating lasting memories.
Born and raised in Kalamazoo, Jr was surrounded by a loving family that stood as his foundation throughout his life. He is survived by his devoted father, Clinton Martin, and beloved bonus mother, Becky Martin; his caring mother, Melisa Martin, alongside bonus father Michael Roberts; and a large family of siblings—Taylor, Seth, Tori (Christian), Trent, Raymond, Sophia, Annabelle, and Zachary. Additionally, he was deeply connected with his extended siblings Austin, Dakota, Coleton, Hunter, Jimmy, and Anthony, all of whom, along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles, carry forward his legacy of kindness and camaraderie.
Jr also treasured his relationships with his paternal grandmother, Kathy Martin, and maternal grandmother, Sherry Boland-Green, as well as his maternal grandfather, James Burroughs, and his wife, Terri. His bonus grandparents, Randi and Howard Deneau, were also among those who shared in his life's journey and offered him unwavering love and support.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Douglas Martin, along with several great-grandparents, great aunts, and uncles whose memory will also be cherished.
Cremation will take place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor his memory and to reflect on a life filled with love, laughter, and generosity.
Clinton-Marcus Edward Martin, Jr.’s presence enriched the lives of many. His heartfelt smile, genuine nature, and boundless enthusiasm will be missed but never forgotten. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire his family and friends forever. #Forever24
