Christopher Collins passed away on October 16, 2026 at the Centrica Rose Arbor Place in Kalamazoo, Michigan following a battle with cancer. His family is grateful that they had an opportunity to say goodbye before he passed.

Chris was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on May 19, 1979. He grew up in Midland, Michigan, where he attended Adams Elementary, Jefferson Middle School and Dow High School, and began his work career on the computer help desk at Northwood University. His interest in and talent for computer technology led to a career in digital imaging technology for medical applications. His career took him to Mt. Vernon, Washington where he worked in radiology practice groups for several years. He then took a position with the Northside Hospital system in the Atlanta Georgia area. Ultimately he began his own company, Global Medical Imaging, and worked as a consultant for several companies in the medical digital technology realm. Chris obtained his Master’s degree in Hospital Administration while working full time and supporting his family. He was always very aware that his work impacted the quality of care that patients would receive, and he strove for excellence. During his illness Chris accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was received in the Catholic Church.

Chris’ passions were his children, Lily and Eddie, his dog Bimmer, working on cars, and travel. When work took him to places around the country, he enjoyed exploring the areas he was visiting.

Chris is survived by his children, Lillian M. Collins (Lily) and Wiliam E. Collins (Eddie); his mother, Janet Collins who was by his side through his struggle with cancer both in Georgia and Michigan; his father, William Collins and step-mother, Dorene Allen; his brother, BJ Collins; his aunt, Rebecca Davis, who graciously opened her home to him before and during his illness; the Peter and Mary Collins family, and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank the staff at Centrica Rose Arbor Place for the wonderful care Chris received in his final days.

In accordance with Chris’ wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 Lake Street, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49001, on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. Visitation will be from 10 am to 11 am, The service will begin at 11 am. If you would like to honor Chris’ memory the family asks that you consider Chris’ children.
