Christina M
Johnson
May 7, 1977 – April 26, 2026
Christina M. Johnson, 48, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away on April 26, 2026, at Rose Arbor in Kalamazoo. She was born on May 7, 1977, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Gloriajean Johnson and the late Ronald Lee Johnson.
Christina carried with her a lifetime of vibrant memories rooted in Kalamazoo. She grew up surrounded by her siblings and a close extended family who remained an important part of her life. A proud graduate of Decatur, Alabama, she held onto the warmth, strength, and sense of community she found there, carrying it with her wherever life led.
She was known for her unwavering positivity, giving nature, and ever-present smile. Even through life’s challenges, Christina remained resilient, choosing to meet each day with gratitude and grace. Her laughter was unmistakable, and those who knew her will remember the way she could lift a room simply by being in it.
Family was at the center of Christina’s world. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Tiarra Johnson and Alihana Calhoun, who meant everything to her. She shared 22 years with her longtime partner, Kenneth Calhoun, building a life filled with love, support, and shared memories. Her home was a place where people gathered, where laughter came easy, and where everyone felt welcome.
Christina found purpose in caring for others. She spent time volunteering at local thrift stores, quietly helping families in need and offering kindness without expecting anything in return. To her, it was more than service — it was part of who she was.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Lee Johnson, and her uncle, Richard Johnson.
Christina is survived by her mother, Gloriajean Johnson; her brother, William Minor of Flint, Michigan; her sisters, Stephanie Johnson and Brittany Johnson, both of Kalamazoo; her uncle, Kenneth Johnson; her aunt, Joann Brown of Alabama; her daughters, Tiarra Johnson and Alihana Calhoun; her longtime partner, Kenneth Calhoun; and her cherished granddaughter, Bryelle.
Christina’s life was defined by love, resilience, and a heart that gave freely to others. She will be deeply missed and remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
