Carol Woods

Carol Anne (Shook) Woods, age 68, of Tekonsha, Michigan, passed away on June 30, 2025. Born on March 31, 1957, in Bellevue, Michigan, Carol spent her life rooted in Michigan, where she embraced her independence, and cultivated lasting friendships.

Carol was fortunate to have shared her life with two loving husbands, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Larry Kilbourn in 1991 and later found love again with Paul Woods, whom she married in 2002. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anita and Elmon (Fred) Shook, and her brother Frederick (Rick) Shook.

Carol is survived by her brother Alvin Shook, as well as several nieces and a nephew.

A true animal lover, Carol had a deep bond with her four-legged companions, especially her cherished dog Zelmadean. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—trying new restaurants with friends, adding to her collection of cow-print items, and embracing her unique style with pride.

Carol will be remembered for her independent spirit and her unwavering resilience. She will be missed by all who loved her.

A private celebration of life will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a local animal shelter in honor of her enduring love for animals.
