Carol Ann
Pasek
Dec 12, 1945 — Jun 29, 2029
Carol Ann Pasek, 80, passed away peacefully into the arms of her savior Jesus Christ our Lord on June 29, 2026.
She was born on December 12th, 1945, in Clymer, Pennsylvania to the late Charles and Pauline (Boston) Wasik. When she was a toddler, they moved to the South Side of Chicago near 51st and Damen; it was here she would make great friends, learn her love of choir, deepen her faith and meet the love of her life. She graduated from Gage Park High School in 1963.
On August 13th, 1966, she married James Pasek and they would spend nearly 60 years married and 67 years together. After marrying they welcomed two children, first a daughter, Kimberly, and three years later a son, Marc. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she worked at Florsheim shoes for a few years until starting a new job at the Illinois Social Security Office and The United States Army as a typist. They called Chicago home for the next decade until they moved to Gobles, Michigan in 1974. Here, she began a 25-year career in the maintenance department at Perrigo Company, working dispatch. She was also heavily involved in St. Jude’s Catholic Church, serving in the Choir and Parish Council, and was integral in expanding the church to its current location. Carol was a devout Catholic until her final day.
After retiring from Perrigo, Carol remained active in her community, working at the local daycare, hometown movie store, and Fritz & Krueger Insurance. Even after fully retiring, she stayed busy doing the things she loved most—watching her favorite daytime soap operas, baking desserts for family gatherings, supporting her church in any way she could, mending Jim's clothing, and sewing countless items for family and friends.
Among her many talents, sewing held a special place in Carol's heart. She delighted in creating handmade items for those she loved, including the Halloween costumes she lovingly crafted year after year—first for her children, Kim and Marc, and later for her grandchildren, Tyler and Courtney. Halloween was Carol's favorite holiday, and she celebrated it with enthusiasm, decorating her home each season and sharing her festive spirit with family, friends, and neighbors alike.
During her later years, she could often be found riding shotgun as Jim drove her around Southwest Michigan, taking short trips and exploring new breakfast spots together. During the summer months, they also enjoyed taking their red ‘83 Mustang convertible to South Haven to get ice cream. Their love story was a remarkable one, marked by unwavering devotion; where one was, the other could almost always be found nearby.
Carol’s legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of her husband, Jim; her children, Kim (Patrick) Pesegna and Marc (Trish) Pasek; her beloved grandchildren, Tyler and Courtney Pasek; her spicy cat, Gracie; and her many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Gobles or to Rose Arbor Place in Kalamazoo. A memorial mass will take place at 12:00 PM on Friday, July 24, 2026, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church at 13809 M40, Gobles, MI 49055, followed by a luncheon. The family will receive visitors an hour prior at 11:00 AM. In accordance with Carol’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
For He will command His angels to protect you wherever you go. - Psalm 91:11
