Carol Sue Melson, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away on August 20, 2026, in Kalamazoo, surrounded by her children. She was born on October 10, 1953, in Kalamazoo, to the late Carl and Betty (Carlson) Melson.

There was nothing she would not do for someone in need, and that spirit of kindness left a lasting impression on those who knew and loved her. She also found enjoyment in life’s quieter pleasures, especially reading and playing Bingo online, pastimes that brought her comfort and happiness.

She is survived by her children, Joseph Carlin and his wife, Rebecca, Jolene Reed and her husband, Robert, and Carl Carlin and his wife, Skyler. She is also survived by her siblings, Terry Melson, Bobbie Melson, Lori Melson, and David Melson; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. May the love of family and the many memories they shared with Carol bring comfort in the days ahead.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Betty Melson; her brothers, Tony Melson and Stephan Melson; and her granddaughters, Ashley Melson and Makayla Carlin.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
