Billy Charles Cagle, born on April 30 1953, in Moulton, Alabama, passed away peacefully August 24, 2025, at Ely Manor in Allegan, Michigan. He was a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence in the lives of those who knew him will be deeply missed.

Billy dedicated a significant part of his life to serving as the chef for the Sugar Bowl, the restaurant owned by his beloved sister, Darlene. His remarkable talent for cooking created countless meals that brought joy and warmth to those he served.

In addition to his culinary pursuits, Billy was an Army veteran, an experience that shaped his character and instilled in him a strong sense of duty and commitment. He enjoyed hobbies such as scrapping and playing Keno, which often brought him closer to his friends and family. His leisurely moments were delightfully spent with a good glass of sweet tea and a competitive game of cribbage. He was not only a lover of games but also a devoted companion to his beloved dog, Remy, whose company brought him immense happiness.

Billy’s family was his pride and joy. He is survived by his daughter, Ashley (Paul) Wilcox, and his three grandchildren, Juamaine, Daniel, and Jason. He also leaves behind his sister, Darlene (Mike) Newnum, and several nieces and nephews, including his special niece, Billie Jean Cagle, who was named after him.

He was predeceased by his parents, James and Bernice Cagle; his son, Jimmy Douglas; and his siblings, Hershel, Lee, Reba, and Donnie.
