Andrew W. Cavender passed away on October 6, 2026, at the age of 50. He was born on July 13, 1976, in Knox, Indiana.
Andrew will be remembered as a free spirit whose personality brought laughter and ease to those around him. He was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in hunting, especially mushrooms, deer, and turkey, and he also loved fishing. He enjoyed dirt bikes, liked skoolies, and even had one of his own. Andrew also loved animals of all kinds, and that affection was part of the warmth he shared throughout his life.
Above all, Andrew’s life was rooted in family, he loved his kids and granddaughters with all his heart and being their Grampy filled his heart and brought him so much joy. He is survived by his wife, Shelley Cavender. He also leaves behind his children: daughters Mackenna (Justice Rowe) Cavender of Knox, Indiana, and Gracen (Nathan Kemp) Cavender of Niles, Michigan; and sons Camden Cavender, Caiden Cavender, and Jackson Cavender, all of Marcellus, Michigan. His family also includes his five granddaughters, Harper, Harlow, Gianna, Violet, and Ellie, who carry forward his memory with love.
He is also survived by his father, Bryan Cavender of Knox, Indiana, and his mother, Billie (Randy) Goble of Star City, Indiana. Andrew will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Bryanne Cavender of North Judson, Indiana, and Amanda (Joe) Forest of Winamac, Indiana, along with the many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whose lives were touched by his humor, his adventurous nature, and his generous heart.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Christy Cavender; maternal grandparents, Bill and Faye Back; his paternal grandparents, Wilbur and Marie Cavender; his uncle, Boyd Back; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Ramona Hall.
A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Family First Funeral & Cremation Services, 52780 M-40, Marcellus, Michigan 49067.
Andrew will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
