Andres (Drew) G. Lerma, 57, of Albion, Michigan, was peacefully called home to be with the Lord while surrounded by loving family members on January 11, 2026, at the University of Michigan Hospital.

Andres was born on March 6, 1968, in Albion to Juan and Arminda Lerma, he was the youngest of their 13 children. Andres modeled the life of his mother and father, which was rooted in faith through the Catholic Church. He lived an eclectic life leading him to California to finish high school, working on a casino river boat in Missouri, becoming owner of a finishing carpentry contracting business in Illinois, then finally returning to Michigan where he became the main caregiver of his loving mother. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge 406 for 12 years, and during that time he served as an administrator for 10 of those years.

Andres will be missed by many. He loved family gatherings, boating, and traveling to be with family and friends. During his travels, an indelible imprint was made on those that he met. A fun-loving spirit, an endearing heart, and a love for life that was contagious to those who surrounded him. He loved playing board games such as backgammon, was a skilled chess player, and loved card games. Spending time with his nieces and nephews was very important to Andres and he made it a priority to attend their events. His sense of humor and quick wit was enjoyed by all. Andres was an avid moviegoer and a sports enthusiast. He loved the Detroit teams (a diehard Lions fan), the Chicago Bears, Michigan State Spartans, and New England Patriots.

Andres is survived by siblings Lucia Lerma, Martha Lerma, Gloria Lerma, Juan Jr, (Jackie) Lerma, Rebecca Lerma, Ricardo Lerma, Louis (Annette) Lerma, and Pablo (Tracy) Lerma and Godsons Antonio Lerma and Deon Williams, along with many nieces and nephews.

Andres was preceded in death by parents, Juan and Arminda (Garcia) Lerma, and siblings, Andres Lerma 1st, Viola McGee, Arturo Lerma, and Roberto Lerma.

A service to celebrate Andres’ life will be held Friday, January 23, at 12:30 p.m., at St. John’s the Evangelist Parish, 1020 Irwin Avenue, Albion, Michigan 49224, with Father Richard Altine officiating and burial immediately following. Luncheon will follow.
